In Religion class, we are preparing for confirmation. (Please keep us in your prayers). As part of our preparation, we will be going on retreat to the Subiaco Retreat House on December 5th. This is always an enjoyable and spiritual experience for the students.
In Literature class, we are reading non-fiction stories such as Mark Twain’s “Cub Pilot of the Mississippi” as well as working on our Accelerated Reading (AR) points.
The 8th graders are writing their personal Michigan Hero papers. They will be judged in a contest with the Farm Bureau Insurance Company. The topic for their paper is “Who is your Michigan hero?”
In Math class, the name of the game is equations. Students need to remember to use all the rules they have learned from Order of Operations, to the individual Integer rules. Using a variety of instructional techniques or skills help to move students progressively towards a stronger understanding and, eventually a greater independence in learning Math.
Finally, our 2018-2019 Student Council is up and running with officers and representatives. Their first job is to tackle the school Halloween parade and festivities. We wish them luck in all their endeavors.
