Dear St. Clare of Montefalco Families,
We continue to grow. This week we have 104 students enrolled with multiple inquiry phone calls coming into the office asking about our school. PK 4, Grade 3 and Grade 4 have waiting lists for entry now. I reiterate the following information. Class size will be limited to 15 students per classroom in KG thru GD 8. We are thinking of locking registration on September 8th for safety reasons. Classrooms will become safe spaces for the children and teacher who occupy those rooms. Due to the projected lack of substitutes it may become necessary to implement Distance Learning if a teacher is absent.
The Archdiocese of Detroit released parental responses to how families found the Distance Learning programs went in their learning communities. St. Clare of Montefalco was a very bright star. The response from families was extremely positive and surpassed the overall AOD response at almost all levels. Comments made by St. Clare parents have been so noted so that if we should have to return to Distance Learning, we will improve upon what we offered. I am in awe of this St. Clare of Montefalco Learning Community. You are all the best.
I have to say again that you are all the best. This past week I took note about the condition of the appearance of our playground and campus as being a little overgrown looking. Oh my goodness, did not a team of parents and students show up to weed the playground and parking lots? Did not Mike McDevitt, the parish engineer, volunteer hours of his time to help too. The campus is looking inviting and friendly thanks to all of you. This is St. Clare of Montefalco. Community spirit and commitment rules.
Families please look at the school website, www.stclareschool.net, for past newsletters that give information for Supply Lists and Classroom/Family Orientation meetings. All past newsletters are found on the website so you do not need to search your email. Know that at this time I am holding to temperature checks at cars before students are released to come into school. If any child has a temperature above 100.5 now that we are going to send the entire car of children home for the day. We are going to error on the side of caution to keep our space safe inside the school.
