Dear St. Clare of Montefalco Families,

Things remain fluid at our school as we prepare for opening. Next week we have our orientation meetings which will be held outside with parents and children. Parents must attend with their children. At a point in the meeting teachers will take the children to their classrooms. They will go through all the processes and procedures for a regular school day.  Please have your children bring their supplies to school during orientation so they may be taken to the classrooms with the teachers. Parents will stay with school administration. Parent Packets and other information about the school year will be shared. Remember if it rains you will bring your children to school. Staff will meet the children at your cars to take their temperatures and then guide them into the school for teachers to provide orientation with their students. Parents will zoom with Ms. Crowley either from cars or home at 9:15 or 12:45. When the zoom call is over, Ms. Crowley will ask parents to return to school to pick up their children. The end time of the meeting is flexible so be ready to return before the noted end time.

Some families have inquired about possible online options for their children during this unprecedented pandemic experience. My number one mission is to make sure everyone feels safe at St. Clare of Montefalco School. The last few days I have reached out to other catholic schools and to the Archdiocese of Detroit around providing some sort of option for families who are not yet comfortable with returning in person to St. Clare of Montefalco School. I will have two different options worked out hopefully by Friday, August 21st. I will send an eblast to all of you so you will be able to consider the options I am trying to provide for you.

Families, please look at the school website  www.stclareschool.net for past newsletters that give information addressing the wearing of masks, how classes will be held,  Supply Lists,  School Calendar, and  Classroom/Family Orientation meetings.

2. First Day for KG – GD 8 Monday, August 31: 7:55 Arrival and 12:00 Dismissal
3. Half Days KG - GD 8 Tuesday – Thursday, September 1-3: 7:55 Arrival and 12:00 Dismissal
4. Friday, September 4th OFF
5. Labor Day Weekend Break: Friday through Monday September 4-7
6. Return from Labor Day Break Half Day–Tuesday, September 8, 2020 (12:00 Dismissal)
7. Preschool Half Days: Tuesday, September 8th – September 11. (8:20 to 11:20)
8. Full Day of School: Wednesday and Thursday, September 9th and 10th. (3:30 Dismissal)
9. Friday Virtual Practice Day: Friday September 11, 2020. All KG thru GD 8 students attend school virtually. KG will have a packet. PK 3 and PK 4 have regular school day.
10. Latch Key and Full Day Pre School thru GD 8 Begins September 14, 2020
