We have had a week filled with highs and lows. Many of you are aware our Chromebooks arrived. Students are over the top being the first ones to use these new one-to-one devices. It made our week that is for sure. We also had our first ever socially distant Fire Drill today. The young people did a superb job getting out of the building in a timely manner.
Wednesday one of our students tested positive for COVID-19. This was our first case for a student. All protocols were taken. Processes were followed keeping an abundance of caution in the decision making around this. Safety is paramount in my charge as principal. Face to face instruction is the goal and allowing this to happen depends on applying this standard of caution. Thank you everyone for understanding. Friday after announcements I will keep my zoom link open if anyone has any questions for me.
Next Wednesday, November 11 we are going to begin a new process for dropping children off in the morning. PTO had a safety professional create a plan that would make drop off safer for our children. Moving cars, children darting out between vehicles, and temperature checkers moving as cars are traveling make for very unsafe conditions. Please
click here to review the updated parking lot map. PTO will discuss how this will work at the PTO meeting Tuesday evening. More details to the specifics will come Monday. Know that your children will all walk on the sidewalk to get to their stars. They should be ready to get out of your cars at the STOP which is at the sidewalk. Knowing some of you prefer to keep your children in your cars you will still be able to do this. Those choosing to do this will need to follow directions specific to this preference.
