Thank you families for your patience as we work out the kinks in dropping your children off in the morning. Today went much smoother. Tuesday I will stand at entrance to flag cars in from both lines. Parent input has been very helpful. Returning families you made it all work last year. We are almost there. Thank you PTO and Mrs. Beatrice Sanford for getting that expert to develop that safe drop off plan.
Your children looked so beautiful this week. I was able to stop into classrooms a few times for very short periods of time. Processes and procedures were worked on as they always are the first days of school. Your children came very well supplied and ready to work. They seemed to leave the school happy at the end of the day too.
Thank you for signing the COVID contracts and having your children return them to school. Grades 3 thru 8 took home Chrome books today if they had their contracts back signed too. Students who did not turn in a Summer Reading Log should turn it in Tuesday so they may participate in the 10 Free Dress Days this school year. Yay!
Lunch forms will come home next Tuesday and must be brought back Wednesday. Due to the flooding in our cafeteria, our school lunch program will not begin until Monday, September 20
th. Until that time your child needs to bring a healthy lunch to school. We have been eating outside as much as we can during this beautiful weather. COVID-19 Safety is the priority to keep our children safe so they may remain in person for instruction.
We are looking forward to welcoming parents into the classrooms on Wednesday, September 8 for Meet the Teacher Night. The event will begin at 5:30 pm in the gym, then you will be able to visit your children's classrooms. Please note that no children will be permitted to attend Meet the Teacher Night. All children must remain home.
Next week is a very full week. Students will be in full uniform, including uniform shoes. STAR testing begins on Wednesday though the window opens on Tuesday. Make sure your children get a good night’s sleep every night and a hearty breakfast each morning. That helps them focus at the start of the day. Thank you families for all you do.
