Greetings St. Clare of Montefalco families,   We are blessed with an abundance of good news today. Our second grade class now has a full time teacher, Mrs. Jacqueline Martin. Ms. Taylor and Mrs. Reid will continue with the class until this quarter finishes. Mrs. Martin will visit during this time to team with the teachers and get to meet the students. Ms. Taylor will stay on to assist in the transition. Mrs. Reid will remain with the school as a substitute teacher. We also have a counselor who has signed a contract to be with us three days a week. Our vendor, GPS, is still working at onboarding Ms. Carly Cenit. Our art teacher, Ms. Nicole Pyles, began this week. Another parent, Mr. Brian Jackson, has stepped up to help at lunch time two days a week.   Our school enrollment is up from 108 students at the end of last school year to 120 students today. We are onboarding two more children and expect to be at 121 or 122 students by the end of next week.   Families please, please take note of our fall fundraiser – the Turkey Trot Fun Run. The school relies heavily on fundraising to keep from increasing tuition. This is also an event that unites us as a school family. I encourage you to sign your child/children up right now. Get all your family and friends involved in supporting the run. Our goal is to reach $12,000. Each student would only have to bring in $100 each. I would love to see the school meet and even surpass this goal.    1.     Four Day Weekend -- Teachers have professional development Friday, October 15th and Monday, October 18th. Enjoy your four day weekend with your children. 2.    Turkey Trot November 12th Fun Run –Your children are very excited to be involved in this. Please sign up here so your child’s class will get a pizza party when they are all signed up. After that, there are different awards for money your children bring in for the event.  https://www.getmovinfundhub.com/register?school_uuid=6148a4e48a4de 3.     Parish Rosary – Sunday, October 17th at 3:00 PM. Families are encouraged to participate in reciting the rosary with the parish in honor of the Blessed Mother. 4.    Thank You Notes to the Dingell Hospital Veterans – Ms. Corbett is leading this in participation with the parish. 5.     Protecting God’s Children – Before you can volunteer with the school in any capacity, you must complete the Protecting God’s Children course. This class is free and you only need to take it one time. Accessing FACTS Family Portal   To access your child’s grades: 1.   Log into Family Portal a.    factsmgt.com b.   Parent Login (top right corner) c.    FACTS Family Portal d.   District code is SCM-MI 2.   Once you’re logged in, click on “Student” on the left side menu 3.   Click “Grades” 4.   Select the class you would like to view from the drop-down menu 5.   If you have more than one child enrolled, you can select the student name from the drop-down menu in the top left corner.   To access the Family Directory: 1.   Log into Family Portal as indicated above 2.   On the left side, underneath school, click "Directory" 3.   This will display all families in the school and their contact information unless they elected to not be included in the directory. Almost all families are included in the directory. 4.   You can filter by grade or search for specific families.
