Greetings St. Clare of Montefalco families,
 
COVID-19 Update
We have multiple families with extended family members now experiencing COVID-19. Our school operates on trust. Do not send your child to school if they have two of the symptoms that may indicate possible COVID-19. If a child comes to school with 2 symptoms we will send home and require a COVID-19 negative test for the child to return without symptoms. Our Christian community watches out for each other. Compassion and empathy is needed for families coping with any level of exposure. Rumor and innuendo is not needed.

Turkey Trot Athletic Wear Free Dress Day
Students may wear athletic wear that meets the guidelines of our dress code. No gym shorts will be allowed unless leggings are worn under long gym shorts, not short gym shorts. Volunteer forms had to be filled out for parents to be involved. Masking and social distancing will be enforced. Event begins at 1:15 for students.

Report Cards/Conferences
Report cards and STAR Parent Letters were sent home today. They are a lot to process. Remember this is first quarter and we seek great growth by second quarter. Testing occurred in the second and third week of school. It is simply a baseline the teachers are operating off to better meet the educational needs of your children. Please sign up for a conference with teachers. Conferences will be in person and no children are allowed in the school when we have adults in the building. Do not come too early or late as the conferences will hold to 10 minutes. If you need a longer conference you can arrange that with your child’s teacher at this conference or via email. Know that tuition must be current to receive cards and attend conferences.

Thanksgiving Break
The Archdiocese of Detroit recognizes the extreme stress their employees and families have been under this school year still being in the pandemic. The Acting Superintendent shared that the AOD is giving employees and families two additional days off and suggested we take it over Thanksgiving Break. At this time, I believe we will add two days onto our break the week following Thanksgiving being Monday, November 29 ^th and Tuesday, November 30 ^th. We would return to school on December 1 ^st.

School Weekend Mass
We would like the class that leads the mass to attend church at one weekend mass. This week Grade 2 will represent our school at the Saturday 4:00 Mass. I will be present and encourage other families to join us.

Spirit Wear and Athletics
Please  follow the St. Clare of Montefalco Athletic Department on Facebook. Basketball has started and Spirit Wear will begin to be sold soon.

5.     Half Day 12:00 Dismissal Parent Teacher Conference – Thursday, November 18 ^th 1:00 to 4:00
6.    Summer Reading Free Dress Day – Friday, November 19 ^th
7.     Thanksgiving Break -Wednesday, November 24 ^th -Tuesday, November 30 ^th (return on December 1)
