From the Desk of Beth McCreedy - 5th Grade Teacher

We are now into the 2 ^nd quarter in fifth grade.  The students are learning many new things this year.  Our lizard Brownie, and our tree frog Garfunkel are doing well.  We continue to watch our bean plants grow that were planted during an investigation on what plants need in Science class.
 
In Religion the students are learning about living as Jesus would live.  They recently did skits together showing ways that they could live as Jesus did.

In Science class we are learning about the Ecosystem and how all the parts work together in the system.  The students are currently doing an investigation on how a population of animals change in the ecosystem when they interact together.
 
In English and Literature, the students just took their test on pronouns and are moving on to adjectives.  In reading they read the story about Satchel Paige and did lots of interactive things to go along with the story.
 
In history class we are finishing the Chapter on Weather and Climate, Natural Environments, and Natural Resources.  My students used the Chromebooks to research how other countries are using alternative energies.
 
We look forward to our Advent gatherings on Monday mornings to light the advent candles.
