Teachers have alerted me to the status of having students who are involved in after school sports or other activities that involve mixing outside the school cohort groups and family pods. These students are from our preschool classrooms all the way up through eighth grade.
The students in our school community have remained COVID-19 safe since March 12, 2020. Only 3 students became positive; two of those cases were from our preschool and one was from grade eight. We are fourteen months in and we are heartened that we are currently able to be here in school, in person, due to the COVID protocols you have all followed at home.
We are a community filled with faith, honesty, and integrity. Families we only 34.5 days left of school. I ask of you to not allow the 14 months of staying safe be in vain. We do not want to finish this school year in the virtual platform. We do not want to see the activities planned for the end of the school year cancelled. All of us depend on each other as adults to put the children and their safety first in our school.
Know that if your child tests positive, they may expose all of their classmates to COVID-19. Positive student exposure classmates will go virtual for two weeks. Siblings of any child testing positive will also stay home and only submit assignments found on Google Classroom.
We are all super tired of this but we only have a little over 6 weeks to go. Families please make sure you are with us in keeping everyone safe. It is your actions with your children that will determine the way our school finishes. The plan is to finish all school days in person with no children being exposed to COVID-19.
