As Ms. Crowley always says, things are moving along here at St. Clare. Students, teachers, and families are becoming more proficient with technology use every day. I would like to thank all of you for supporting your children and our staff as we navigate all the new technology uses in our school this year.
As you know, we have ordered Chromebooks so every student in grades 3-8 will receive a brand new Chromebook that they will take home and bring to school every day. We are thankful to have received the funding for these Chromebooks from various sources, including generous donors. Having these Chromebooks is an integral part of our program this year.
We placed the order for our Chromebooks at the beginning of July, as soon as we secured funding. We knew there was a nationwide shortage of Chromebooks as many schools were ordering devices for the coming school year. As we shared with you at orientation, we were expecting to receive these Chromebooks in mid-September. Unfortunately, our vendor has informed us that their supplier will not be shipping out new devices until October. Our vendor is unable to give us a delivery date at this time, though they informed us that our order is very high on their list to be filled. We will keep you updated on the status of our order as soon as we have more information.
In the meantime, we are dedicated to ensuring all St. Clare students have the capability to participate fully in Virtual Fridays. We have a limited number of devices that we can loan to families who have no way of providing devices for all their children on Virtual Fridays. Please note that we are keeping 6 Chromebooks in our middle school classrooms for in-school use, so we are working with a limited number of devices to loan out.
Please complete the following survey to inform the school administration of your need for devices on Virtual Fridays. We will distribute devices on
Wednesday next week, September 30.
