Last Thursday we held our annual Turkey Trot fundraiser on a beautiful fall day. I’d like thank Jean Stanley-Irving for leading and organizing the events of the day as well as Caerise Williams, the PTO president, and all the PTO moms and dads who volunteered their time both at the start and finish of the race, as well as being “cheerleaders” along the racecourse. It takes an enormous amount of collective work to put together such an event. I’d also like to thank Jody Corbett for her wisdom and experience with the family fundraising. St. Clare would also like to recognize and thank our #1 supporters, namely our Chief of Public Safety, Jim Bostock, and Officer Tom Taylor of Grosse Pointe Park, who surprised us by showing up in running gear and ran EVERY SINGLE RACE with all 9 classes. Thank you for your support and service to our school and community!! A big thank you also goes out to Bob Conway, Clare, and our St. Clare Athletic Club for generously donating NIKE gift cards for our top 2 fundraising students. The students of St. Clare and their families raised over $12,000! The fundraising site is still open until this Friday, Nov. 17th. If you’d like to donate, call the office at 647-5100 and speak to Sandy Girodat. Every little bit counts. The money will be put towards various class fieldtrips, classroom needs, and our new pre-school playground that will be breaking ground very soon. Our 25 top fundraisers, who each raised more than $150 each, will enjoy a homemade breakfast prepared by Mrs. Hensien and Mrs. Harris in the parish hall.
