Greetings St. Clare of Montefalco families,
 
We had a lovely Back to School Gathering this past Sunday. It was so good to see all of you and enjoy the enthusiasm that radiated through the courtyard. 
 
Due to the flooding and restoration work being done in our cafeteria, our lunch orders will not be able to begin until September 20th. Your children will need to bring their lunches with them until that Monday. The goal is to be able to provide bagged lunches or salad options beginning September 20 ^th. You will need to complete the Lunch Order Form noting what your child will choose for those days. Forms will be sent home on Monday, August 30 and are due back Tuesday, August 31.
 
Please look at the links and important dates and reminders. The  SCM School Handbook has been updated. This summer a committed group of parents and staff thoroughly went through the handbook changing it where it needed changing. See the section on Dress Code for proper attire on Free Dress Days and for uniform standards.
 
COVID-19 School Protocol Update
1. We will all wear masks this year. Parents and other adults will not be allowed in the school during the school day. 
2. Students will stay in their cohort groups and come and go from the doors they are assigned to just like last school year. Please get your children to school on time. You will need to call the office to notify staff if you are late. Your child will go to their assigned door and a staff member will let them into school after you call.
3. Towels will be needed to sit on outside for lunch. We will eat outside as many days as possible to stay safe. Large plastic bags, with zippers, for towels and lunches will be provided for kindergarten through grade four students.
4.  COVID Screening Tools for Families – Please keep your children home if they have any symptoms indicated on the screening tool. Call Ms. Crowley to report symptoms and a decision will be made around when children can return to school.
5.  RESA Return to School Roadmap – We are following the Wayne County Guidelines for length of times for quarantine exposures and travel. Please review this document.

1.     First Half Day of School – Monday, August 30 8:00 to 12:00 (Free Appropriate Dress Day)
2.     PTO First Coffee Meet Up – Monday, August 30 8:00 in Parking Lot Location
3.     Full Days of School KG thru Grade 8 – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (August 31 - September 2) 8:00 to 3:30 (Uniforms must be worn.)
4.    PK Half Days Monday thru Thursday, 8:10 to 11:20
5.     Latchkey Begins – Tuesday, August 31
6.    Labor Day Break – Friday, September 3 through Monday, September 6
7.     Return to School – Tuesday, September 7 ^th 8:00 to 3:30
8.    STAR Testing – September 7 ^th through 10 ^th
9.    Meet the Teacher Night – Wednesday, September 8 ^th 5:30 to 7:00
