The weather is breaking, and we are enjoying being outside more and more. Students will now line up outside in the morning and go outside at recess to appreciate the fresh air. Only three and half months left to stay strong against COVID-19 and remain face to face for instruction. Families I know I say this almost every newsletter but thank you for your diligence. Families’ children who traveled by plane over break returned to school today. It’s not easy quarantining and staying current with school work. You families are going the distance. Thank you so much for this. Please open this post to view the complete newsletter.
COVID-19 protocols change weekly due to the new strains of COVID occurring nationwide. Please open this post to see the updated requirement for those of you who travel weekends or on breaks.
I hope you all enjoyed your extended Winter Break with our additional Snow Day tagged onto it. We returned to a busy Wednesday. It was Ash Wednesday. The older students went to mass in person and younger students livestreamed. Ashes were received by everyone in the school by having them sprinkled over the head. The 100th day of school was celebrated in some of the classrooms from kindergarten through GD 8. Chicken wings were dissected in grades six and seven and of course it was pizza day at lunch time which everyone loved. Please open this post to view the complete newsletter.
Due to the impending storms and frigid temperatures, school will be closed Tuesday, February 16, 2021. It will be a Snow Day. No virtual lessons will be held. Our families come from 21 different zip codes. This entered into the decision making for St. Clare of Montefalco School. If roads are cleared, the plan is to return to school Wednesday.
Happy Winter Break ahead for all of us. Please be safe and enjoy your time with your children these next 4 days. Please open this post to view the complete newsletter.
This eblast is to remind you that this Friday, February 12th, we begin to open registration to new families for the 2021/2022 school year. We have 22 new families with applications expressing and interest in registering. We have some grades where there are very few openings if everyone should return. Grades 1, 2, 3 and 6 may fill quickly. Friday classrooms will be open for all families, old or new, to secure spots. I am encouraging all of you to please register your children by Friday to make sure your children remain with St. Clare of Montefalco School. The good news is, we will start waiting lists which may prevent split classes in the fall.
A few updates for you this Sunday. Your school has been exceptional since returning in person January 11, 2021. There have been zero reportings of COVID-19 contacts within the school. We remain open and safe. Thank you families for making this happen. Please open this post to view all the updates.
This has been a week filled with faith, fun, excellence, and service. We had perfect attendance two days in row. I thought it was because of Pajama Day but the next day when full uniforms had to be worn, we had perfect attendance again. Students participated in honoring our clergy on Vocation Day and contributed significantly to our Veterans writing thank you cards to them and filling baskets with donations. Those donations will be delivered Tuesday, February 9th, after school to the John Dingell Veterans Hospital in the Medical Center. We will still take items for the baskets Monday. Report cards went home Wednesday and Friday is conferences for parents who wish to speak with teachers in zoom. Please open this post to view the complete newsletter.
